About Us
Sylvan Academy is a long established Performing Arts School located in the Sutherland Shire. We are committed to fostering in all our students a love of performing and a passion for dance.
We are focused on providing high-quality teaching in a fun and professional learning environment - we will do everything we can to meet your expectations.
Sylvan Academy was established in 1976 at
Kareela by Pamela Fisher. Throughout its long history it has produced many champions and is a well known and respected name in the local dance scene.
Students learn all styles of dance, from Classical ballet, Tap and Jazz, to Modern, Contemporary, Hip Hop and Acrobatics.
Students at Sylvan Academy perform in a range of displays each year. Our Junior, Intermediate and Senior performance teams have travelled to Queensland where they performed at Dream World and Broadbeach as well as being regular performers at the Royal Easter Show.
Students from Sylvan Academy also compete in a number of Eisteddfods in both solo and group categories, winning many places in both of these. The most prestigious of these being the City of Sydney Eisteddfod which they have won on a number of occasions.
