About Sylvan Academy
Our History
Sylvan Dance Academy has operated out of Kareela since 1976, when it was established by Pamela Fisher. In this time they have produced many many champions, working professionally as dancers, performers and teachers across Australia and the world.
Our Philosophy
Sylvan Academy has always welcomed dancers of all abilities and with different goals in mind, whether it was to dance for fun, or dance competitively Sylvan has always nurtured in all of their students a love for the art of dance.

Our Principal
In 2023 Kate Wilson assumed the role as Principal of Sylvan Academy. Starting as a pupil of Sylvan at age 4, Kate began teaching for Pam when she was 16. They have always enjoyed a successful working relationship. Kate has always had a passion for teaching, gaining a Bachelor of Education in Secondary Education in 2001 from UNSW. Kate thoroughly enjoys teaching students of all ages and loves to choreograph across all styles. She has won many many eisteddfods for her choreography. She is supported by a wonderful team of teachers, many of whom have been pupils of Sylvan Academy themselves.
